Most Bizarre/Interesting Client Project

I’ve been lucky to have been involved in many bizarre and interesting client projects, but rather than a client, I am going to say the one and only time I worked in-house, which was at GoHenry (a fintech that provides a debit card and financial education app for children) for almost a year. Being in-house was so different but a hugely beneficial experience that I am a better SEO for.

Favorite Ways to Spend Your Free Time?

It used to be playing Gaelic football but my ‘career’ has been on hiatus for a couple of years now due to some big life events. Definitely either listening to or playing traditional Irish music; studying the Irish language; or putting my body through some kind of physical rigour like strength training.

Favorite Industry Podcast/Show To Follow?

I recommend Deep Questions with Cal Newport. I don’t listen to too many others right now and am more of a newsletter person when it comes to SEO, but maybe I’ll pickup the oll’ podcasts again sometime. I’ve been subscribed to Marie Haynes’ newsletter for as long as I’ve been doing SEO, which at the time of writing is a decade!

Top 3 Resources Everyone Should Know About

Favorite Area Of Your Work?

Generally being of service to others. For example: being able to see a major project through to completion and help a client a) execute it and b) get results. Such as a technical audit or content audit.

As A Kid, What Did Dou Want To Be When You Grew Up?

As a young fella, I didn’t have a specific dream for what I wanted to be when I grew up. However, since I was born in Liverpool, England and spent my early years there, I always knew I wanted to return as an adult. I often told my Liverpudlian relatives that I’d come back one day, and I did. After finishing school, I went to university in Liverpool for three years. I loved it so much that I returned five years after graduating and stayed for another four years, even during the pandemic. It was during this time that I met my now-wife. So, having spent a decade in my birthplace, I’d say mission complete!
